The Swedish Chamber Orchestra with chief conductor Thomas Dausgaard has a vacancy for Principal Flute from January 2017.
Founded in 1995 the Swedish Chamber Orchestra is a full-time ensemble of 39 musicians. It is based in Örebro, (population 130000) situated on lake Hjälmaren, 200 kilometers west of Stockholm. Örebro is a university town with a concert hall built in 1935 which has recently undergone a complete rebuild. This is the home and venue of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra. Each player has a private practicing room at the venue. The orchestra is funded by the city and the region of Örebro.
The Swedish Chamber Orchestra performs a full season in Örebro as well as touring regularly (BBC Proms, Lincoln center, Salzburger Festspiele, Europe and Japan). In 2017 the orchestra will for example tour to Mexico, the Reingau Festival and the Lincoln Center. The orchestra has an existing discography of 67 CDs for BIS, Naxos, Chandos, Hyperion etc. The orchestra is currently engaged in recording the complete Brahms orchestras music for BIS records.
The audition will be held in Örebro at the concert hall on the 7th and 8th November 2016.

• W A Mozart: concerto for flute in G-Maj Köchel catalogue 313, first and second movements
• J S Bach: Partita for solo flute Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis 1014 in a-min, Allemande and Sarabande
• C Nielsen: Concerto for flute, first movement, allegro moderato
