Svenska Kammarorkestern åter till Tivoli och Barbican Centre

Verket, som är en sambeställning av Lincoln Center New York, Barbican Centre London, Casa da Musica Porto och Svenska Kammarorkestern, fick sin världspremiär i New York den 22 augusti, 2006. Svenska Kammarorkestern ger den brittiska premiären i Barbican under 2007. Så här skrev Hilary Finch för The Times efter Europapremiären i oktober 2006:

“Poised between appearances at the Mainly Mozart Festivals inNew York(August) and the Barbican (next July), Magnus Lindberg´s new Violin Concerto has just received standing ovations at its European premiere in the quiet Swedish town of Örebro. Why Örebro? Because that is the home of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra which co-commissioned the work, and played it, under the baton of their chief conductor Thomas Dausgaard, with the sharp-eyed intensity that has become their hallmark."

“...the music becomes charged with a Sibelius-like sense of radiating light and excited affirmation. In this sense, the concerto´s tone of voice is elusively yet distinctively Nordic, its light palette that of the high latitudes. Don´t miss it when it comes to London."

Under konsertkvällen presenteras även W.A. Mozarts Ouvertyr ur Don Giovanni och Oboekonsert kv 314 med solisten Francois Leleux och Ludvig van Beethovens Symfoni nr 3 op 55.
